Intellectually Property Law and Copyright related matters remain as one of the less widely understood subjects by those that originate and create content which end up crossing the borders and streamed all over platforms on the globe. With the advent of digital media and technology the subject becomes more complicated and often times ignored of its existence, needs and rights. Intellectual Property Law therefore aims at safeguarding creators and other producers of intellectual goods and services by granting them certain time/limited rights to control the use made of those productions. Those rights do not apply to the physical object in which the creation may be embodied but instead to the intellectual creation as such. Is traditional divided into two categories. On the one hand, Industrial Property, includes patents for inventions, trademarks, industrial designs and geographical indications and on the other, copyrights covering literary works (such as novels, poems and plays), films, music, artwork (e.g. drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures) and architectural projects. Copyright includes those of performing artists in their performances, phonogram producers in their recordings, and broadcasters in their radio and television programs.
